Alma completed a review of Shelby County Schools Teacher and Leader Effectiveness (TLE) work as the district prepared for the conclusion of a grant from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that spanned over seven years. Following the review, our team led a two-and-a-half day planning retreat for the Superintendent and his cabinet to chart out the top priorities for the next year to strengthen and sustain the district’s work towards achieving the strategic plan goals of Destination 2025. During the retreat cabinet members recognized the need to strengthen team execution, prioritization and follow-through, and established new routines for monitoring their work throughout the year.

Our work has continued with the district through three important efforts:

  1. Team effectiveness support for the cabinet,
  2. Support for the Academics team in planning for improved early learning and career and career and technical education supports, and
  3. Realignment of HR functions to serve as a true strategic partner to schools.
